Formule 1-wereld schaart zich achter Hamilton na nieuwe racismerel

De uitspraken van Nelson Piquet, meervoudig wereldkampioen Formule 1, stammen uit 2021, maar kwamen nu pas boven tafel. Mercedes en F1 spraken direct hun afkeer erover uit en nadien volgde nog meer partijen, met Lewis Hamilton zelf als belangrijkste partij . Gedurende de dag hebben ook Ferrari, Aston Martin en de FIA hun afkeer tegen wat is gezegd, uitgesproken. Martin Brundle retweette het statement van Mercedes met als bijschrift: "Ik kan het hier enkel mee eens zijn." Ook teamgenoot George Russell spring voor Hamilton de bres.
