Formule 1-wereld in rouw vanwege de dood van Stirling Moss

Op zondag 12 april overleed Formule 1-legende Stirling Moss op negentigjarige leeftijd. De Brit was niet op, maar ook naast het asfalt door iedereen geliefd. Het nieuws zorgde dan ook voor vele steunbetuigingen op sociale media, maar ook werden er veel herinneringen opgehaald. Hieronder staat er een selectie op een rij. Saying goodbye is never easy and can be sad but he will always be here, in our memories and will always be such a huge part of British Motorsports Heritage. I certainly will miss our conversations. To be honest, it was such a unusual pairing, our friendship. Two people from massively different times and backgrounds but we clicked and ultimately found that the love for racing we both shared made us comrades. I am truly grateful to have had these special moments with him. Sending my prayers and thoughts to his family. I’ve always been a massive fan of Stirling and I once asked a friend of mine who knew Stirling if he could get me his autograph. He came back to me and told me that he’d spoken to Stirling and he would be glad to see me at his home in Mayfair. So I not only got Stirling’s autograph but I got to spend a day with Stirling and his lovely wife, Lady Moss. Sterling lived a life that I can only dream of. His legacy will live on forever.
