In zijn ART bleef Nyck de Vries in de middag Nicholas Latifi en Mick Schumacher voor. De Nederlander gaat dit jaar op jacht naar de Formule 2-titel, in de hoop zo een positie in de Formule 1 af te dwingen.
Met een 1.25,3 was De Vries bijna vier tienden sneller dan nummer twee Latifi. Ferrari-junior Schumacher en Ghiotto wisten ook nog enigszins in de buurt te blijven.
