Fergal Walsh Fergal Walsh, Senior F1 journalist for RacingNews365
Fergal has been a fan of motorsport and F1 since he was a young boy, a passion that was ignited in the early 2000s when he was brought to see a Michael Schumacher championship-winning Ferrari on display at a local car dealership.
After setting his focus on entering the media landscape with the dream of covering F1, Fergal obtained a degree in sports journalism and also has qualifications in radio production.
While studying for his journalism degree, Fergal received his first media accreditation for F1 in 2019, attending pre-season testing in Barcelona. There, he got his first taste of what it was like to work in the paddock and was instantly hooked.
Since then, he has been able to visit many other F1 locations through his work, including Miami, Monaco and Abu Dhabi.
After a handful of years working in the motorsport industry as a freelancer with various publications, he joined RacingNews365 in August 2023.
Bringing you day-to-day news items surrounding the world of motorsport, Fergal has also interviewed several current and former drivers on current events in F1.
Outside of F1, Fergal shares a great passion for other sports, most notably football and basketball.
